Celebrating Ruby McManaway – 2025 Young Winemaker of the Year
We’re delighted to share that our very own Ruby McManaway has been named the 2025 Tonnellerie de Mercurey Young Winemaker of the Year!
After winning the Marlborough Young Winemaker of the Year title last month, Ruby travelled to Christchurch to represent the region in the national finals at Lincoln University on 26 August.
The competition brought together talented young winemakers from across the country, testing their skills in every corner of the craft. Over the course of the day, contestants were challenged in lab theory, marketing strategy, wine blending, general wine knowledge, and wine judging.
Ruby stood out with impressive results, taking home wins in both the Constellation Brands Laboratory Section and the Indevin Wine Judging Section.
